Acceptable use policy

Last revised:

Draft — to be reviewed by a lawyer before release.

1. Purpose

This policy sets the limits of acceptable use of YCloud servers. It is an integral part of the public offer and applies to every Customer.

2. Prohibited uses

Servers must not be used for:

  • Spam — sending, or supporting the sending of, unsolicited bulk messages (email, messengers, SMS).
  • Phishing and fraud — sites imitating other services, stealing passwords or card details.
  • Attacks — DDoS, mass port scanning, password brute forcing, unauthorized access to other systems.
  • Malware — viruses, botnet command-and-control servers, distributing malicious files.
  • Unauthorized cryptocurrency mining.
  • Illegal content — material prohibited by the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan or Germany, including child sexual abuse material, extremist material and copyright-infringing distribution.
  • Open proxies or mail relays left open to abuse.
  • Resource usage that disrupts the data center network or other customers.

3. Customer responsibility

Customers are responsible for the security of their servers: keep the system updated and use strong passwords or SSH keys. Abuse carried out through a compromised server still counts as the Customer’s violation.

4. Enforcement

4.1. When a violation is detected or the data center reports abuse, the server is stopped immediately without prior notice.

4.2. Data on a stopped server is kept for up to 14 days, during which the Customer may explain the situation. The server is then deleted.

4.3. Serious or repeated violations lead to account closure without a refund for the current period. Where required by law, data is handed over to the competent authorities.

5. Reporting abuse

To report spam, attacks or other abuse coming from a YCloud server, email info@yurtal.io with the IP address, time and evidence.
